I didn’t say “no,” I just said “not yet.” - Jenna Zaffino

I didn’t say “no,” I just said “not yet.”

I didn’t say “no,” I just said “not yet.”

Patience is not my strongest virtue. When working towards a goal, my ego tends to interfere and start some serious “reality-tv-type-drama” in my head. “Why didn’t you get picked for that? Why haven’t you done that yet? Who are you to teach those lessons?”
Over and over again, the universe has gently stepped in to calm my ego and remind me that I’m not doing anything wrong or lacking in the hard work dept. Its simply that the timing is not up to me. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Often, by practicing patience, the pieces quietly slip into place and I grow through the process of staying with the work. I realize that many of the instances that had previously caused my ego to have fits have come to fruition- just not within the timing that I desired. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The waiting, however challenging, always provides the space for me to grow into the person who I need to be in order to rise to the occasion of the achievement. The hard work that I do in the meantime gives me the chops to know what to do with the achievement. In short, the timing is actually perfect and definitely not up to me. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you catch yourself in the “why-isn’t-this-happening-for-me” vortex, remember to stay with the work and open your mind to growth and expansion. As for the “ego-show” in your head, keep reminding yourself that the answer isn’t “no,” but simply “not yet.”
